HC Deb 28 January 1970 vol 794 c368W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what fees are paid by private industry for work carried out on its behalf by Government research establishments under his control; and how these are calculated.

Mr. John Silkin

A range of charges is made by the Building Research Station depending on the nature of the work, staff effort and facilities needed for it. Broadly the charges are aimed at recovering from industry the full economic cost of the work.

Revenue is likely to increase when its fee-earning advisory service comes into operation in May.
