§ Mr. Roebuck
asked the Minister of Technology what private enterprise organisations his Department is employing to inform Britons working in the United States of America of job opportunities in the United Kingdom; what is the cost; and whether he will consult with the Department of Employment and Productivity with a view to this work being undertaken by officials of its Professional and Executive Register.
§ Mr. Varley
Some of the consultants' 13 recommendations are already being implemented (e.g. to postpone for the time being the opening of new centres, to intensify training, to examine I.L.O.s' geographic areas, and to revise methods of handling and reporting inquiries). Others require further study, and discussion with I.L.O.s themselves, principals of colleges, and the Education Departments.
It is not the normal practice to make available copies of management consultants reports, which are intended for the confidential information of those who commission them—in this case, the Department.
