75. Mr. Roebuck

asked the Lord President of the Council what organisations were granted charters during the past three months on the advice of the Privy Council, other than those granted to the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge and the Jockey Club; and whether such charters were granted in accordance with the normal routine applying to the grant of such charters.

The other charters granted during this period were to the Cranfield Institute of Technology, the Royal College of Pathologists and the University of the South Pacific. The application by the University of the South Pacific was officially sponsored. In all the other cases (including the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge and the Jockey Club) the full normal procedure applied.
