§ Mr. Gwynfor Evansasked the Secretary of State for Wales what percentage of the United Kingdom expenditure on dual-carriageway roads and motorways 420W in the years 1966 to 1969 was incurred in Wales.
§ Mr. George ThomasThe figures for motorways were set out in my reply to the hon. Member on 8th July, 1969. In the light of more recent information the corrected figure for 1968–69 is 1.2 per cent. and for 1969–70 is estimated to be 1.0 per cent. Percentages for other dual carriageway roads are not available. There will be increasing expenditure on the Morriston by-pass and other motorway schemes added to the programme. In addition, expenditure will increase on dual-carriageway roads to near motorway standard which play a major part in the Welsh road programme.—[Vol. 786, c.252.]
