HC Deb 25 February 1970 vol 796 cc338-9W
Mr. Rankin

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he accepts the proposal in the Edwards Report that British European Airways trunk routes should terminate at Glasgow and Edinburgh; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

As my hon. Friend will know, B.E.A.s main trunk services to Scotland already terminate at Glasgow and Edinburgh. There is no proposal to change this or to discontinue the direct service to Aberdeen. The White Paper on Civil Aviation Policy indicated that the organisation of regional air services would be examined further.
