HC Deb 18 February 1970 vol 796 c157W
Mrs. Joyce Butler

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consideration is being given by his Department in considering fluoridation of the water supply to the fact that recent Dutch experiments show disfigurement and damage to plants from flourine in water at normal concentrations.

Mr. Crossman

I can find nothing in the report of these Dutch experiments on the cut leaves and flowers of gladiolus plants to cast doubt on the safety of fluoridation of water supplies for human consumption.
