HC Deb 18 February 1970 vol 796 cc157-8W
Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether public health inspectors will take charge of the environmental health services to be administered by local authorities in the future structure of the National Health Service.

Mr. Crossman

For the environmental health services the Green Paper envisages that local authorities would require not only the services of their public health inspectors but also medical advice from doctors employed by the area health authorities. Close collaboration between the public health inspectors and those doctors will also be needed.
