asked the Minister of Technology if he will take steps to raise the minimum payment for an investment grant from £25 per item to £75 per item.

Mr. Varley

I think my hon. Friend is referring to the general policy whereby investment grants are not paid on individual items of machinery or plant which cost less than £25. While this policy is kept under review, my right hon. Friend does not at present contemplate raising the £25 minimum value limit.
