HC Deb 16 February 1970 vol 796 cc25-6W
Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is aware that at the Northern Hospital, cleaners who work from 8 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. for five days and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday are now working from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for five days only; and whether he will examine the standards of hygiene and additional burden on nursing staff in the light of these figures.

Mr. Crossman

I am advised that there has been no significant variation in the pattern or total number of hours worked by cleaners at the Northern Hospital for the past two years; no additional burden has been placed on the nursing staff and there has been no reduction in the standards of hygiene at this hospital.
