§ Mr. TaverneThe order for the computer for the Centre at East Kilbride was placed in October, 1964 and orders were placed for the Centres at Bootle and Cardiff in October, 1968. Orders for the remaining Centres will be placed about 2 years before the appropriate computer accommodation becomes available, i.e. the approximate dates for placing the orders are expected to be:
Shipley … end 1971 Manchester … end 1972 Washington … early 1973 Edinburgh … Autumn 1973 Portsmouth … Autumn 1974 Midlands … Autumn 1974 It is not the usual practice to reveal the prices paid or expected to be paid to the suppliers of this equipment.
The building contracts are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Minister for Public Building and Works.
