HC Deb 05 February 1970 vol 795 cc201-2W
Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Minister of Transport why the roundabouts at both ends of the new Bedworth bypass are unlit; whether he is aware of public concern as to safety; and what action he will take.

Mr. Bob Brown

Only the roundabout at the southern end of the bypass is open to traffic, and this has illuminated bollards and signs and temporary lights which have been affected by a cable fault. The highway authority is trying to cure this fault. Permanent lights are to be installed soon.

Lighted bollards and signs will be in use when the northern roundabout is opened to traffic. Planned permanent lights will come into use as soon as possible afterwards.
