Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will instruct his representative on the Nurses and Midwives Whitley Council to propose that nurses who voluntarily gave up their free time to work overtime during the recent influenza outbreak should be paid the appropriate overtime rate.
§ Mr. CrossmanNo. There is already a Whitley Council agreement designed specifically for this type of situation and this provides for staff to be compensated by additional off-duty time.
