§ Mr. Randallasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what progress has been made to full implementation of a comprehensive system of education in the County Borough of Gateshead.
§ Miss BaconReorganisation is complete except for the three voluntary aided Roman Catholic secondary schools. A plan to reorganise St. Aiden's and St. Wilfrid's has been accepted in principle but implementation depends upon future building allocations. The Department is to have discussions shortly with the local representatives about the future of the St. John Fisher School.
