HC Deb 18 December 1970 vol 808 c459W
Mr. Nott

asked the Minister for Aviation Supply how many complaints of sonic booms he has received from the council of the Isles of Scilly during the past three months; what undertaking he has given that the French Concorde will not fly over the Isles of Scilly; and whether he is satisfied that the French Government are co-operating with the British Government to prevent this happening in the future.

Mr. Corfield

The authorities in the Isles of Scilly have complained that sonic booms have been heard on five occasions on days when the French-assembled Concorde prototype has been flying. The designated test routes for the French-assembled Concorde ensure that no sonic booms should be heard in the United Kingdom and the French authorities have instructed S.N.I.A.S. to ensure that these routes are strictly followed in the future.
