asked the Minister of State for Defence how many foreign aircraft have been purchased by the Royal Air Force in each of the last six years.

The numbers of military aircraft purchased from abroad, delivered in the last six years, are as follows: 1965, 16; 1966, 2; 1967, 51; 1968, 80; 1969, 105; 1970, 4. These figures include aircraft purchased for the Royal Navy and Army Air Corps, as well as for the Royal Air Force.
