HC Deb 16 December 1970 vol 808 c339W
53. Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his estimate of the number of houses to be built in both the public and private sectors in each of the years 1971 and 1972; and whether he expects that more houses will be built in each of these two years than the average number of houses built annually during the previous five years.

Mr. Amery

The level of house-building depends on many factors and as I indicated in the Answer I gave on 25th November to the hon. Member for Salford, East (Mr. Frank Allaun), I am not prepared to make a quantitative forecast.—[Vol. 809, c. 407.]
