HC Deb 16 December 1970 vol 808 c389W
Mr. Fidler

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will make a statement about plans for further increasing the number of doctors to be trained in British medical schools.

Sir K. Joseph

As announced by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science on 18th November, a new medical school is to be established at Leicester. For current planning purposes the present target for pre-clinical entry places has been raised to a maximum of 4,100 places by the later 1970s.—[Vol. 806, c.443.]
