HC Deb 16 December 1970 vol 808 c360W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many of the local authorities have now taken, or are intending to take, action under Section 15 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act, 1970; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Graham Page

It is the statutory duty of all local authorities under Section 15 of the Act to have regard to the desirability of appointing persons with relevant experience to committees concerned with matters in which the chronically sick or disabled have special needs. The attention of authorities was drawn to this by paragraph 37 of the circular issued on 17th August, 1970.
