HC Deb 15 December 1970 vol 808 c306W
95 Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what measures he is taking to prevent the dumping of unsightly and dangerous industrial waste, effluent and chemicals by Merseyside firms and other firms from the English side of the Welsh border in the border counties of Wales.

Mr. Peter Thomas

The general problem is currently being considered by the Government in the light of the report of the Technical Committee on the disposal of toxic solid wastes. Action on the particular problem to which the hon. Member refers lies in the first place with the local authorities concerned. My Department will be glad to give help and advice.
