HC Deb 14 December 1970 vol 808 c270W
Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is aware of concern in East Flintshire at the shortage of paediatric consultant care based at Chester hospitals; when he proposes to appoint a second consultant paediatrician at Chester hospitals; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alison

No, but the Liverpool Regional Hospital Board have recently sought, and received, my right hon. Friend's approval to appoint a second paediatric consultant at Chester to meet the growing and prospective work load; I understand they propose to advertise the post next spring.
