HC Deb 07 December 1970 vol 808 c17W
Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will raise in the Security Council, as a threat to world peace, the massacre of refugees on 23rd July in southern Sudan.

Mr. Godber

No.

The security situation in the Sudan is a matter which remains essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of that country's Government. The Sudanese Minister for Southern Affairs has denied the unconfirmed press reports which allege that Sudanese troops were involved in an incident on 23rd July. He has further stated that no such incident took place on Sudanese territory.
