asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether, as a means of assisting the British shipbuilding industry and to prevent hard currency being spent on foreign yachts used for private purposes when such ships can be purchased in Great Britain, he will take steps to place a 50 per cent. import duty on such private yachts.
