HC Deb 02 December 1970 vol 807 c390W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has now considered plans for the replacement of Thrashbush Home, Airdrie; if he will give details as to the estimated cost, site and starting date; and what is the nature of the accommodation approved.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

A new old people's home is to be provided at Forrest Street by Airdrie Town Council. Work is expected to start early in 1971, and the cost will depend on tenders which are shortly to be invited. The plans provide for 26 single and seven double bedrooms for 40 old people of both sexes.
