§ Mr. BryanMy Manpower and Productivity Service has the duty of promoting improvements in industrial relations, the adoption of sound personel management techniques and the better use of manpower. I have been reviewing its activities and organisation and will continue to do so in the light of new tasks placed upon it.
§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Employment what research his Department carried out on the subject before the inclusion of the 60-day cooling-off proposal in the Consultative Document on Industrial Relations; what the sources of references were; and if he will publish the research material.
§ Mr. BryanIn drawing up their proposals for national emergency powers, the Government have taken full account of relevant research information and developments in the industrial relations field both in this country and in other countries.
