HC Deb 02 December 1970 vol 807 c414W
76. Mr. George Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what estimate he has made of the total area of derelict land in Wales that will be cleared by the end of 1971 and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Thomas

I estimate that about 1,750 acres of derelict land will be cleared by the end of this year and that work on a further 1,000 acres will be completed or largely completed by the end of 1971. I hope to maintain this encouraging rate of progress thereafter.
