HC Deb 01 December 1970 vol 807 c368W
Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for reports from chief constables indicating how many serving police officers in England and Wales will have completed 25 years' service and be eligible for retirement in each of the years between 1970 and 1975.

Mr. Sharples

I estimate that the number of male police officers in England and Wales who will complete 25 years' service in each of these years is as follows:

1971 3,700
1972 4,100
1973 3,400
1974 2,300
