HC Deb 27 April 1970 vol 800 c233W
Mr. James Davidson

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications whether he will amend Section 13 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 so as to make the jamming of private radio stations legal.

Mr. Pentland:

I would refer to the replies given to the hon. Member for Hendon, North (Sir Ian Orr-Ewing) and to my hon. Friend the Member for Coventry, South (Mr. William Wilson) on 20th April and to the hon. Member for Bury St. Edmunds (Mr. Eldon Griffiths) on 22nd April. I am advised that the section does not apply to the Government's action in upholding the International Telecommunication Convention.—[Vol. 800, c. 6–7; c. 117–8.]
