asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why the British Hotels and Restaurants Association is not represented on the reconstituted Scottish Food Hygiene Council; and whether, in order to associate the hotel and restaurant industry with the work of this Council, he will take steps to remedy this.

Mr. Millan:

It is not possible to ensure that every interested organisation is permanently represented on advisory bodies of this kind. The Association is always invited to offer comments on proposals for regulations of direct concern to its members.
