HC Deb 22 April 1970 vol 800 c114W
Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has for increased nursery school provision in Wales.

Miss Lestor:

Part of the urban programme for socially deprived areas, for which the Government has set aside £24 million over four years is being devoted to nursery education. Projects to provide about 300 additional places in nursery schools and classes in Wales at a cost of £83,475 were included in the programme for 1969–70. It is expected that there will be further allocations for nursery education in the urban programme over the next two years.
