asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the average wage for male full-time agricultural workers in the year April, 1968, to March, 1969.

Mr. Ross:

Minimum rates of wages for agricultural workers are laid down by Orders of the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board, according to the category of work involved. On the basis of the numbers of male full-time workers employed in the various categories in the period in question the average minimum rate was approximtaely £12 10s. and the average of total earnings approximately £15 12s. per week.
