§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement on the cash flow and credit ceiling imposed by the Treasury, in view of the rise in the four weeks to mid-March of £234 million to £5,802 million on overdrafts, some £155 million above the normal seasonal rise; and whether the loan to non-priority categories of £300 million beyond the prescribed limit of 98 per cent. of the November, 1967 ceiling level was done with his consent.
