HC Deb 20 April 1970 vol 800 cc12-3W
74. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will now make a statement on the official visit made by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster to Bonn on 13th and 14th April; what was the purpose of the visit; and to what extent the Government's policy regarding entry into the Common Market was discussed.

Mr. Luard:

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster had valuable talks in Bonn on 13th April with Herr Scheel, the Federal German Foreign Minister, and other members of the Federal German Government, on European Community questions, including the prospects for Britain's negotiations for entry into the Communities.
