HC Deb 16 April 1970 vol 799 c279W
56. Dame Irene Ward

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what capital sum is being made available for the construction of the new hospital in South-East Northumberland, which has been applied for by letter from the Newcastle Regional Hospital Board following their decision to include it in the 1970–71 programme.

Dr. John Dunwoody

I think there must be some misunderstanding. The Newcastle Regional Hospital Board has not proposed that a start should be made on a new hospital for South-East Northumberland in the 1970–71 programme.
