§ 53. Mr. Edwin Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity, in view of the fact that the refusal of the West Riding County Council to grant planning permission for an extension of the dirt-tip at Manvers Main colliery will cause 6,000 men in the South Yorkshire coal industry to lose their jobs, if she will take all necessary steps to ensure their future employment.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerI understand from my right hon. Friend the Minister of Technology that the existing tip has a life of at least three years and that the 275W National Coal Board is to appeal to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government against the county council's decision.
