75. Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will express as a weekly average the increase in tax revenue which has been collected by the Government between 1964 and the most recent annual period for which estimates are available.
§ Mr. TaverneThe estimated weekly average of the difference, at constant prices, between Central Government tax revenue in calendar 1964 and calendar 1969 is £73 million.
This change mainly reflects some of the measures by which the Government achieved the transformation of the record balance of payments deficit of 1964 into the record surplus of 1969.
