HC Deb 08 April 1970 vol 799 cc75-6W
44. Mr. Maclennan

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what measures the Meat and Livestock Commission has recommended to him to improve the marketing of livestock to ensure that the return to the farmer is commensurate with the profit to the retailing butcher.

Mr. Mackie

No recommendations have been received from the Commission on this subject. It is, of course, the Commission's function to consider the marketing of livestock from the point of view of all those concerned including the producer, the retailer and also the consumer.
