HL Deb 07 April 1970 vol 309 c140WA
LORD ARCHIBALD

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they can give any estimate of the cost of imported machinery, such as computers, tabulators, conventional office equipment and cash registers required in this country as a result of the decimalisation policy.

LORD DELACOURT-SMITH

It is not possible to provide an estimate. Many of the machines in use are being converted and, although a proportion of new machines required for decimalisation is expected to come from abroad, imports for this purpose are not separately recorded.

House adjourned at ten minutes past nine o'clock.
