§ Mr. Lubbockasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Federal Aviation Agency has made a regulation providing that no passenger may occupy a seat adjacent to the emergency exits of passenger aircraft; and if he will study the need for a similar regulation in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsI am not aware that the Federal Aviation Agency has made such a regulation in these terms. It has, however, a requirement for aircraft with double doors that there must be at least one seat adjacent to each exit that could be occupied by a cabin attendant.
70WThe Board of Trade is engaged on a review of the regulations governing the provision of cabin staff on United Kingdom public transport aircraft in the course of which the distribution of cabin staff seats is being considered.
