Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what help it is intended to give towards the building of a new power-generating station on the Zambian side of the River Zambezi.

Discussions have taken place between representatives of Her Majesty's Government end the Zambian Government and the World Bank on certain aspects of the financing of a new power station at Kariba. No commitment has yet been entered into by Her Majesty's Government.
