§ 54. Mr. Woodnuttasked the Secretary of State for Local Government and Regional Planning why he has not included a representative from the Isle of Wight on the South East Economic Planning Council; and if he will immediately take steps to appoint the nominee of the Isle of Wight local authorities.
§ Mr. CroslandMembers of the regional Economic Planning Councils are appointed as individuals having a wide knowledge of their regions as a whole, not as representatives of particular areas or authorities. The South East Economic Planning Council currently has a full complement of members and at the moment I am not expecting to make further appointments.
