§ Mr. Dickensasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the level of family allowances, tax free, to be paid for all children, including the first horn, graded for those under 11 years, between 11–16 years, and over 16 years, on the basis that the tax allowances for children in these categories were abolished and the increased revenue thus derived transferred to a cash payment of family allowances; and what is his estimate of the break-even point.
§ Mr. TaverneI am not sure what my hon. Friend has in mind but if he wishes to use the additional revenue from each of the three separate age groups for family allowances for that age group, then the information on which to base an estimate is not available.
