§ Mr. O'MalleyIn all, £3,172 million, of which £429 million was supplementary benefit and £123 million was unemployment benefit. It is estimated that the total paid by way of supplementary benefit and unemployment benefit to males under 40 years of age who were registering for work at employment exchanges was of the order of £75 million or rather less than 2½per cent. of the total paid out in social security benefits during the year.
