§ Mr. Pardoe
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will introduce legislation to provide for a separate board of governors for every school.
§ Miss Bacon
The Education Act, 1944, envisages that normally every school shall have its own managers or governors but local education authorities also have power to group two or more schools under a single governing body. I incline134W to share the hon. Member's view and can assure him that changes in the law about the government of schools will be considered in the context of preparatory work for a major new Education Bill.
