HC Deb 12 November 1969 vol 791 c117W
Mr. Lawson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the cost to the Exchequer of income tax remission on contributions to private occupational pension schemes and on the management of the funds of those schemes.

Mr. Taverne

The cost of tax relief for employees' contributions to occupational pension schemes in the private sector is estimated at about £65 million for 1968–69, the latest year for which the estimate can be made. I am writing to my hon. Friend to ask what he has in mind in the second part of his Question.
