HC Deb 12 November 1969 vol 791 c91W
71. Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the recent decision of Roxburgh County Council to grant a two-year exemption from rates to the Border Unit Railway Company, he will give a general direction to the Forestry Commission to assist in whatever way possible the provision of timber freight contracts to the Border railway.

Mr. Ross

The Forestry Commission is already in touch with the company and is willing to consider any practical and competitive proposals it makes for carrying its timber.
