§ Mr. Peter Millsasked the Minister of Transport if he will introduce legislation to make it compulsory that all accidents or incidents endangering the public occurring to, or caused by, commercial vehicles should be reported to his Department within 24 hours by the owners of the vehicle concerned, and that an investigation of each accident or incident should be made.
Mr. Bob BrownThe Department receives from the police a full report of road accidents involving personal injury. In addition, a special investigation is sometimes carried out into any particularly serious or unusual accident. I do not think that investigating other incidents would be either practical or justified.
