HC Deb 11 November 1969 vol 791 cc47-8W
7. Mr. Michael Barnes

asked the Minister of Transport what is the latest estimate he has made of the financial contribution which his Department will be called upon to make towards the building of the primary road network proposed for London by the Greater London Council.

Mr. Mulley

Planning is proceeding, subject to the appropriate statutory procedures, on the basis that my Department will commit about £200 million on principal and trunk road schemes for the primary network in London during the 5 to 8 year period beginning in 1971–72. I cannot say what funds are likely to be available beyond this period.
