HC Deb 03 November 1969 vol 790 c26W
Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will list the subsidies and payments from public funds given during the last 12 months to British and Europe in movements and activities advocating entry into the Common Market.

Mr. Luard

The only grant paid the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to an organisation whose objectives include advocacy of British entry into the Common Market is that given to Britain in Europe, now subsumed into the British Council of the European Movement, in order to assist them in promoting a proper understanding in Europe of the British point of view on European affairs.

Payments made from this grant-in-aid during the last 12 months have totalled £5,000.
