Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many hours were lost through industrial disputes in the Scottish motor industry in the first three months of 1969; and what were the comparable figures in the first quarter of 1968.
§ Mr. HattersleyIn official statistics loss of time through stoppages of work due to industrial disputes is measured in terms of "days lost". It is provisionally estimated that 16,000 working days were lost in the first three months of 1969 through stoppages in the motor vehicle industry in Scotland. The corresponding figure for the first quarter of 1968 was 500.
