HL Deb 08 May 1969 vol 301 c1338WA
LORD GRANVILLE OF EYE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of previous representations and assurances which have resulted in no action being taken they will now institute immediate action of an emergency character to repair and renovate the Cheltenham railway station to encourage travellers to continue to use it rather than avoid its depressing appearance.

LORD WINTERBOTTOM

This is a matter for the British Railways Board. My right honourable friend the Minister of Transport understands that, while no assurances have been given that wore will be carried out at Cheltenham railway station, the improvement proposals mentioned in my reply to my noble friend on November 26 last are still under consideration by the Board.

House adjourned at twenty-seven minutes before seven o'clock.
